Pricing
What are all the costs involved in purchasing an EMR?
Patagonia Health is a Web 2.0 based EMR providing anytime, anywhere access to medical records from any web-enabled computer or mobile device. No special hardware or expensive server is required, and thus practices/agencies do not incur large upfront expenses. Users pay a low cost monthly subscription fee.
Are your prices per practice, per provider or per user?
Users pay a monthly subscription fee for each active provider (i.e. physician, physician assistant nurse practitioner or behavioral health clinician) set up on your account. There are no additional per–practice or per–user fees.  Administrative users are allowed access to the system at no charge.
How much does your Electronic Fax solution cost?
We recommend installation of an electronic fax solution since it simplifies and automates communication with providers outside the practice.  Electronic Fax solution has a one-time installation cost of $500. and a monthly fee of $40.
Are there any setup and installation costs?
Initial set up, installation, registration (for billing software) and training carry a one time fee depending on the type and number of users.  These fees are a fraction of other competitive systems.
What types of payment do you accept? Can I pay by check?
Patagonia Health is currently accepting payments by check. In addition, to simplify monthly payments for our customers, we establish automatic debit (withdraw) from customers’ bank accounts.


Software
What are the system requirements for Patagonia Health EMR?
Since all of your data is hosted on our servers, all you need is a modern laptop or desktop or tablet PC running Windows® or Mac® OS X and a high-speed Internet connection such as DSL, cable modem, or T1.
Are there any special software requirements?
Since Patagonia Health EMR is a true Software as a Service solution, all you need is an Internet browser to log on to the internet. No software is installed on your computing device.
Do you have voice capability in your EMR?
To ensure physicians can enter data quickly and easily, Patagonia Health has invested heavily to integrate Dragon Medical™ voice (and other voice to text programs) with Patagonia Health EMR.


Security & Privacy
Is the data secure?
Patagonia Health EMR provides HIPAA compliant secure capabilities. Just like online banking, user data is transmitted from browser to server using 256 bit encrypted format using SSL certificates. Data is hosted by a national company in a secure facility with controlled access. This data center meets the most stringent SAS 70 security requirements.
How do you handle security and data backups?
Patagonia Health has sophisticated systems in place to keep your data safe and archived. In addition to keeping your data in one SAS 70 compliant data center; we back up data nightly at another location. Patagonia Health uses Navisite data centers which are among the top 5 data centers providers in the country.


Federal Incentives
Does your electronic prescription solution qualify for Medicare incentives?
Patagonia Health EMR’s e-prescription solution is Surescript certified and it qualifies fully for Medicare eRx incentives.
Does your EMR meet ARRA “Meaningful Use MU” criteria?
Yes, Patagonia Health EMR is certified by the Drummond Group, a federally Authorized Testing & Certification Body ATCB. This certification allows each eligible physician to receive $44,000 over 5 years (first year's installment of $18,000) while complying with the federal mandate for meaningful use of a certified EMR. Patagonia Health EMR has taken the complexity out of Meaningful Use compliance, by allowing eligible providers/practices to incorporate MU requirements into their normal patient workflows. In addition, an easy to use reporting dashboard provides each practice/agency a visual view of progress towards MU compliance. Patagonia Health EMR complies with all 34 stringent federal MU requirements.


Implementation & Training
How long does it take to set up Patagonia Health EMR?
Patagonia Health's EMR product is a state of the art cloud based system, that can quickly assign a user ID and password for you to start using the EMR, within a few minutes.
Can you import the patient demographics information from my practice management system into your EMR?
Yes. Patagonia Health offers existing data import services, and we can complete most projects within a few days. From your practice management or billing provider, please request patient demographic information either in Microsoft Excel (.XLS) or a Comma–Separated Value (.CSV) file format.  Patagonia Health’s technical team will upload your patient demographic data into your EMR. It is very convenient to import existing data to our system, and allows you to begin serving your patients/consumers through the system faster.
How is the training provided?
The Patagonia Health's team will completely help the practice/agency transition from paper to electronic. Our team provides training and transition assistance remotely or in person. We provide personal and individualized training to fit each practice/agency and their staff members.


Interfaces
Do you interface with Practice Management Systems?
Yes, we interface with 70 of the most widely deployed practice management systems via X-link. In addition, if your Practice management system is not supported by X-link; we will work with your practice management company to design and deliver an interface. Do you interface with Labs?
Yes, Patagonia Health EMR interfaces with several major labs including LabCorp, Quest and Spectrum.  Others may be added upon a customer's request.


Transfer of EMR data
Can I get my electronic medical records back in case I do not continue with Patagonia Health?
Yes. At your request, we will provide all your data back to you, in an industry standard format, so that you can transfer it to another EMR of your choice. There is a onetime charge of $1000. for this service.
